Heyo 👋 it’s Dave here, it's really ballsy to come on here after 3 months of inactivity and give it a tagline, "Consistency isn’t a straight line."
I’ll be very honest with you (like I always am). Wanting to pursue other things while you have a typical 9-5 job requires you to become a different version of yourself.
Today I hope to show you that consistency isn’t a straight line, especially if you’re a 9-5 Entrepreneur who started a business, blog, newsletter, or video content and then stopped for a reason or two, and now you can’t seem to find the courage or willpower to go back.
Na who give up fuck up
— Popular Nigerian quote
I’ve had four years of working experience in one of the most demanding Sectors(Financial Services), working Mondays to Fridays at the office while plying the dreaded Mainland to Island Route and still building my business
1️⃣Here’s my first argument
More times than not, life happens, and most times there’s nothing you can do. From the death of someone close to the resignation or leave of a colleague that doubled your workload, all these are legit reasons why motivation can reduce, and so much time is being taken that all the systems you built crashes.
If you particularly work an 8-5 job, you know very well that you can only truly boast of your Saturdays and Sundays, and sometimes that Saturday isn't even sure.
2️⃣Secondly,
it can be hard to know where to head next: In 2022, I had to seek medical assistance. I had been confused about what to do with my life, interested in so many things but couldn't really stay put doing one thing.
I was getting older and confused about my future. This really affected my existence so bad I could feel a ring of pain around my head due to constant rumination and negative thoughts.
Honestly, so much happened during that period. I had to make several tough decisions, but I came out of that phase with a refined and clear sense of direction.
3️⃣Finally,
Building something can be so overwhelming and requires so much focus that it can takes all the spare time you have.
Okay, let’s get to the moral of the story so we can go back to pursuing our dreams.
So much has happened from my last publication to this day. I’ve started a brand, traveled to Akure, almost threw another 9-5 hangout, and another project that has gotten me really excited is the Yawo Socials App.
I’ll share it all here in the coming weeks, but for now, the message is simple:
Pick back up that project and and continue with it.
Consistency isn’t a straight line📈
I’ve decided to share something on Twitter every day till the new year using the hashtags #CountdownTo2024 and #learnNshare.
Just pick whatever platform you share on and use the hashtags. Let's grow together.
It is important to Make sure you’re are getting enough sleep as a full blown, burn out can more harm than a few missed deadlines will.
