On the 31st of December, I sat in front of my PC, writing the final episode for 2023. As I did, I felt a certain way, reflecting on the past year and witnessing my growth – from someone inconsistent to maintaining a newsletter for a year.
I was with my friend
who runs Benign Liberty ( ), a company whose mission is to Alevite Energy poverty! while I wrote, I observed him stressing over the company goals in 2024. I smiled because I could feel it; 2024 is going to be spectacular.As I contemplated strategies for 2024, questions flooded my mind – how to keep good habits, build discipline, and make the most of my time as I could reach and surpass my targets in 2024

My morning routine was a key daily habit for a productive day. The problem was overcoming sleep inertia,as I would only get out of bed just in time to catch the bus by 5:20 am.
ℹ️ Sleep inertia
it is the time it takes for the brain to fully "boot" or become fully alert after waking up can vary from person to person. Generally, it's known as the period of sleep inertia, and it can last anywhere from a few minutes to around 30 minutes. During this time, you may feel groggy, disoriented, or have slower cognitive performance. Factors such as the depth of sleep, the time you spent in REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, and individual differences can influence how quickly someone becomes fully awake and alert after waking up.
Following the 2nd and 4th laws of building habits (according to Atomic Habits), the 4am Club was born.
The 4am Club is a group of people, 9-5ers included, aiming to build good habits by waking at 4 am each day to plan and tackle the day.
After just the second day, sleep inertia became a thing of the past. I was up by 3:58, each day energized and ready to take on the day with the crew, I get a little nervous before they call, but it always turns out well, and the past 6 days have been one I want to maintain until the end of the year.
I've been there before, at the start of my journey into productivity, a super version of myself. I've longed to return to that state.
Now, How can you build good habits in 2024?
Make it obvious.
Make it attractive.
Make it easy.
Make it satisfying.
